Delhi Police has caught a high-profile vehicle thief, whose entire family is involved in vehicle theft. The accused's wife, step-son and brother, all have vehicle theft cases registered against him, and together they sometimes used to commit different vehicle thefts. Special staff in North district has apprehended 3 accused, including 2 vehicle thieves, while the third accused is the receiver.
North DCP Monica Bhardwaj said that the accused used technology to steal luxury vehicles. He used to scan the entire system of the car from the iPad and then turn off the security feature. According to the police, the accused is the kingpin of the Dilawar gang, who along with Asif would steal the vehicles and then steal the vehicle and sell it to his receiver Sameer alias Shamim in Meerut.
The accused used to sell luxury cars like Fortuner for just one to one and a half lakh rupees. He said that Head Constable Deepak had received information about the accused, after which the team of Inspector Sunil, SI Praveen, ASI Yashpal, Constable Atul and Manjeet arrested the accused.
