The Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court has banned plastic once used in the Situation court premises and the Circuit Benches located in Jalpaiguri and Andaman and Nicobar Deep groups here.

The Registrar General said on Wednesday that the verdict has been approved by the full court.  Subsequently, Chief Justice TB Radhakrishnan ordered an order banning plastic used once from October 1.  'Full court' means a meeting in which all judges of the High Court are involved.

Registrar General Rabindranath Samant said that an awareness campaign will be held on September 30 in the High Court building here in which all judges, lawyers, officers, staff and legal clerks will participate.
