Indian shooter Manu Bhakar won the gold medal in the 10-meter air pistol game at the Asian Shooting Championship held in Doha. In the 14th Asian Shooting Championship, Manu gave India the first gold medal.
Manu Bhakar won the gold medal by finishing first in the finals with a score of 244.3. This is India's first gold medal in the championship. Manu has already achieved Tokyo Olympics-2020 quota. Chinese shooter Qian Wang won the silver with a score of 242.8 and Wang's compatriot Renxin Jiang won the bronze with a score of 220.2. India's Yashaswani Singh Deshwal secured the sixth position in this event with a score of 157.4.
Olympic tickets already cut
In May this year, young shooter Manu, 17, won the Tokyo Olympics quota by finishing fourth in the women's 10m air pistol event in the World Cup shooting tournament in Munich, Germany.
While the pair of Vaani Kapoor and Manisha Keer won the gold medal in the mixed team event of the championship. The Indian pair won the gold medal by 34-29 to the Chinese pair in the final.
