With a turn up of 83% voters Bengal beats the record of only 81% from 2014.

This year, the total voting percentage in the state was 83.8, which was 2.7 percent more than of 2014.

Mala Rai, Trinamool candidate from Kolkata South, says that voters in their area were complaining about EVM and VVPAT process, due to which the long lines of voters were found on the morning polling booths.  But the polling officials say that the situation had become normal afterwards, so it can not be held responsible for the sudden fall in the voting.
