In view of the cyclonic storm in Maharashtra, the movement of all aircraft from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai has been stopped till 7 pm. All work has been stopped at the airport till 7 pm. This afternoon Cyclone Nisarg has hit the coast of Alibag in Maharashtra. Since then, there has been heavy rain and thunderstorms in Mumbai and surrounding areas. The airport administration has taken this decision after the difficulties faced during the landing of the FedEx flight from Bangalore. There was no disruption of flight operations due to the cyclonic storm, but it has been decided to suspend airport operations keeping in mind the strong crosswinds, crosswinds may interfere with take-off and landing.
