Amidst the escalation of Indo-China, the armies of the two countries are deploying arms and essential equipment at their base near disputed areas in eastern Ladakh.  It includes cannons and combat vehicles.  Tension has been going on between Indian and Chinese forces for more than 25 days.  Military sources gave this information on Sunday.  Arms are being deployed by the armies of both countries in the disputed area at a time when there is an attempt to resolve the dispute through both military and diplomatic level.

Sources said that as part of the strategy, the Chinese Army is gradually increasing the storage of cannons, tankers and heavy military equipment in its base camp near the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh.  He told that the Indian Army is also sending weapons like cannon along with additional soldiers to compete with China.  Sources said that India will not back down as long as the situation is not maintained in Pangong Tso, Galvan Valley and many other areas.  The Indian Air Force is closely monitoring the disputed area.

A large number of Chinese soldiers had crossed the border and entered Indian territory earlier this month and have remained in Pangong Tso and Galvan Valley since then.  The Indian Army protested against the encroachment of the Chinese soldiers and demanded their immediate return from there and restore peace and status quo.  The Chinese army also increased its presence in Demchok and Daulatbeg Oldi.  These are both sensitive areas and there have been clashes between the soldiers of both the countries here in the past.

It is believed that China has deployed around 2500 soldiers in Pangong Tso and Galvan Valley and is gradually increasing the temporary infrastructure and weapons.  However, there is no official data on the number.  Sources said that pictures taken from the satellite show that China has steadily increased defense infrastructure on its side of the standard border, including the construction of a military airport about 180 km from the Pangong Tso area.

According to the assessment of the Indian Army, its purpose is to pressure India.  A senior army officer said, "We are well aware of the Chinese tactics.  The Indian Army stands firm on its stand and we are not going to agree on the restoration of status quo in the area."

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Saturday that bilateral talks are going on at the military and diplomatic level to resolve the dispute with China.  India's opposition to the construction of road in the area near Pangong Tso Lake and Derbuk Shayok-Daulat Beg Oldi route in Galvan Valley is the main reason for the deadlock.

Sources said that China is also constructing a road on which India has objections.  Sources said that the Indian Army has sent additional troops, vehicles and cannons to increase its presence in East Ladakh, where Chinese soldiers are taking an aggressive stand.
