The number of tigers in the marshes of Sunderbans reserve forest has increased to 96 from 88.
As per Forest Department census, the Royal Bengal Tigers count in the Sunderbans has risen to 96, from 88 last year. The census was conducted between November, 2019 and January, 2020.
The Forest Department officials also informed that sightings of the Royal Bengal Tigers in the Sundarbans area has almost doubled in the lockdown period.
