Bollywood superstar and West Bengal brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan has expressed concern for those affected by Super Cyclone Amphn which has devastated the state, and affected parts of Odisha as well.
"My prayers, thoughts and love for the people affected by the devastation of cyclone Amfan in Bengal and Odisha. The news has left me feeling hollow. Each of them is my own. Like my family. We must remain strong through this test . Many times until we can smile together again ", Shah Rukh tweeted on Friday.
Other Bollywood celebrities have also expressed their concern for the residents of the cyclone affected areas on social media.
Super Cyclone Amfan made its ground in West Bengal on Wednesday afternoon with heavy rains with winds ranging from 155 kmph to 185 kmph causing heavy damage in various parts of the state. According to sources, at least 80 people have died due to the cyclone.
Electricity production has started in many areas since Wednesday. There has also been a problem of drinking water.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Kolkata on Friday morning. After conducting an aerial survey, the Prime Minister announced a relief package of Rs 1,000 crore for the state.
