Daruwala was one of the most famous astrology columnists in the country. He was associated with many newspapers, magazines and news channels throughout his decades long career.
He was also a professor of English in Ahmedabad.
According to news agency PTI, the Apollo hospital in which Daruwala was being treated, has confirmed his death.
His son Nastur Daruwala refuted rumors on social media that his father had been infected with Coronavirus. He said that Daruwala was only suffering from pneumonia.
