Delhi International Airport Limited said on Saturday that it has taken several measures to provide a "safe and healthy environment" to passengers flying from Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Installation of automatic hand sanitizer at various locations, placing floor markers, entrances for departing passengers and allocation of check-in islands, to encourage compliance with social distance norms and reduce human interaction at the airport is.
The following arrangements have been made at Delhi Airport:
To enter the airport
• In order to distribute the passenger load to the departure forecourt, DIAL has allocated designated gates for all airlines to enter the terminal building from all existing gates.
• All passengers have to download the Arogya Setu app on their phones before arriving at the airport / forecourt.
• Provisions have been made for thermal scanning of passengers as per government guidelines.
Upon check-in
• Check-in islands are aligned to ensure smooth flow of passengers from the forecourt to check-in security.
• To avoid close contact and congestion at the counters, passengers will be encouraged to check in at home or use self-service facilities such as self-check-in facility, self-bag tag facility, scan and fly, etc. Will be encouraged to use.
On security checks and immigration (for international travelers)
• Alignment of queues to ensure social distance between CISF / immigration staff members.
• Seating with queue managers, social distance signs, social distance norms has been arranged before security check to avoid congestion.
• Tray disinfection SOPs will be maintained for passenger safety and auto-dispensing sanitizer machines are placed for passenger use after security and immigration checks.
After security check
• Travelers will go to the security hold area, where they can visit food courts, lounges and retail shops. Social distance marking is placed in food courts, elevators, seating etc. Strict and rigorous SOPs will be maintained to ensure safety, health and hygiene in food and beverage (F&B) shops, lounges, retail outlets and all other non-air areas.
• To avoid congestion at one place, DIAL would encourage all more retail outlets to remain open. Contact-less Retail & F&B Options
• Travelers will be encouraged to download the HI app, a dedicated AI-enabled app for Delhi-and-Hyderabad airports for contact-less commerce. It can also be used to order contact-less food.
