Around 6500 players who have qualified for the Tokyo Olympics will also retain their quota in 2021 under the newly created qualifying rules published by the International Olympic Committee.

The IOC has released a new qualification blueprint. The Olympics postponed due to Corona virus will now be held between July 23 and August 8 next year. The new deadline for qualification is 29 June 2021.

Individual international sports federations will be in charge of qualifying processes. The IOC has also told the federations that the interests of the players who were close to qualifying should be protected and also ensure that only the best players are participating in the Olympics, for which performance in 2021 is also monitored.

This year's Tokyo Olympics was postponed for a year due to Corona virus and will be held from 23 July to 8 August next year.
