India secured their place in the ICC Women's World Cup to be held in 2021 after the cancellation of One Day Championship against Pakistan. The Indian team was not allowed by the government to play against its arch-rival. Matches between India and Pakistan were to be played between July and November last year. But it depended on getting approval from the government.
Due to the cancellation of the three-match series in both teams, equal points were distributed. The International Cricket Council (ICC) said in a statement, "In the context of the series between India and Pakistan, the Technical Committee reached the decision that the series could not be played due to some specific reasons. Because the BCCI (Indian Cricket Board) said that it did not get government approval to play a bilateral series against Pakistan. This series was part of the ICC Women's Championship. '
It added, 'The series between India and Pakistan was included in the sixth round of the competition, which was to be held between July and November 2019, but the series could not take place despite the best efforts of both the boards.' This means that India, the runners-up in 2017, qualified for the 2021 World Cup in New Zealand.
