The British Open Golf has been canceled for the first time since World War II due to the corono virus epidemic. The 149th Open was scheduled to be held in July at the Royal St. George Golf Club in Kent. This oldest major of golf will now be held in July 2021.
The British Open was started in 1860. Apart from 1871, this prestigious tournament had to be canceled during World War I (1915–1919) and World War II (1940–1945). And now due to Corona, 2020 it has to be stopped.
The organizers said in a statement, 'This tournament in Cantt was to be played from July 12 to 19. The Kovid-19 required the cancellation of the championship based on the guidance of the British government, health officials and consultants from R&A (The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews).
