 Google announced on Monday that it is gradually shutting down its currently free public Wi-Fi station program available at more than 400 railway stations in India and will work with the Indian Railways and RailTel Corporation to help with existing sites  Resources for people to help them so that they remain useful.

 Google launched its station initiative in India to bring more than 400 fast, free public Wi-Fi to the country's busiest railway stations by mid-2020.

 According to Google, the decision to close the station has been taken keeping in mind the affordable mobile data plans and mobile connectivity which is improving globally including India.

 "India, especially now has the cheapest mobile data per GB in the world, according to TRAI in 2019, mobile data prices have come down by 95 percent in the last 5 years," said Sengupta.

 According to reports, Indian users consume an average of 10 GB of data every month.
