Patiala House Court of Delhi has issued a new death warrant against the four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang rape case. These culprits will now be hanged on February 1 at 6 am. Let us tell you that the four were to be hanged earlier on January 22, but a convict filed a mercy petition and after his dismissal, a new death warrant has to be issued under the process. In such a situation, the date of hanging had to be extended.
After the new death warrant was issued, Nirbhaya's mother Asha Devi said that until the culprits are hanged, they will not get peace. He told media persons outside the court, 'What the perpetrators wanted is happening ... date on date, date on date. Our system is such that where the culprits are heard.
Earlier, the Tihar Jail authorities had on Friday appealed to the court to issue a death warrant against the convicts on the death penalty. Additional Sessions Judge Justice Satish Kumar Arora had asked the jail administration to tell the court by 4.30 pm whether Mukesh Kumar Singh, one of the four convicts in the Nirbhaya case, has been informed whether the President rejected his mercy petition Done. Indeed, prosecution lawyer Irfan Ahmed told the court that Mukesh's mercy petition was rejected by President Ram Nath Kovind on Friday.
During the recent hearing of the Nirbhaya case, the High Court had expressed strong resentment. Actually, the court was hearing the petition of death row Mukesh Kumar Singh. In this, he requested to postpone the January 22 date fixed for hanging. On Wednesday itself, the Delhi government and the jail administration told the Delhi High Court that it could not be hanged on January 22 because a convict has filed a mercy petition and if his plea is rejected, then issuing a new death warrant under the rule Will have to.
On this, the court lashed out that the Delhi government and the jail administration have created a 'cancer-prone system', which is used to take advantage of criminals sentenced to death.
The court had said, "If you cannot take action till all the convicts use the mercy petition, then your rules are bad." It seems that no one (while making rules) used brains. The system suffers from cancer.
Let me tell you that on 16 December 2012, a 23-year-old paramedical student, Nirbhaya, was mass raped in a moving bus and brutally assaulted. He died 13 days after the incident while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore. This case shook the entire country. After this, the government was forced to make the law strict.
