A conservative Muslim-dominated Pakistan has constituted a 22-member parliamentary committee to draft a law to prevent the forced conversion of religious minorities and protect their rights. According to the news published in Dawn, Senate President Sadiq Sanjrani formed the committee after consulting National Assembly Speaker Asar Kaiser, Senate Leader of the House Shibli Faraj and Leader of Opposition Raja Zafarul Haq. Religious Affairs Minister Nurul Haq Qadri, Human Rights Minister Sheerin Mazri and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan will be part of this committee. The committee also includes Senate member Ashok Kumar. National Assembly Members Malik Muhammad Amir Dogar, Shunila Ruth, Jai Prakash, Lal Chand, Muhammad Aslam Bhutani, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Dr.Darshan, Keshomal Khiyal Das, Shagufta Jumani, Ramesh Lal, Naveed Amir Jeeva and Abdul Wasay are also members of this committee.
