Former captain of the Pakistani cricket team, Waqar Younus has joined the race to become the bowling coach of the Pak national team. He formally applied for this post on Thursday. This information has been given in the report published in Pakistani media.
Geo News quoted sources as saying that Waqar is the most well-known name among all the applications for this post. Waqar has been the head coach of the Pakistani cricket team twice before, but this time he has applied for the post of bowling coach.
During the tenure of the then President of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Najam Sethi, he left the post of Chief Instructor, after which Mickey Arthur became the Chief Instructor of the Pakistani team. Arthur has been removed from the post due to lack of success in the World Cup.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has fixed August 26 as the last date for submission of applications for the team's chief coach and bowling coach.
