During the hearing in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute, the Supreme Court on Wednesday asked Hindu and Muslim parties to present evidence in favor of their claim. The Supreme Court said that it will re-examine the evidence found in this case from 70 years old till now. The Supreme Court said that it would not be affected by the High Court's decision in this case.
Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SA Bobde, Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice S.K. Abdul Nazir heard the case on Wednesday. During this period, Nirmohi Akhara has filed a claim on the entire 2.77 acres of land against the High Court verdict. On this, the court asked the Nirmohi Akhara to give evidence in favor of this argument.
Supreme Court asked for proof
The Supreme Court bench said that the Nirmohi Akhara, claiming to take care of the disputed structure, claimed to be a 'service' for the worship of idols after 22-23 December 1949. In this case, they should present documents such as revenue payment or account information of the land. Court said that such evidence can strengthen your stand.
In response, Nirmohi Akhara said that in 1982 there was a robbery in which his papers were lost. Justice Chandrachud said that you should show us the real documents related to Ram Janmabhoomi. After which the lawyer of Nirmohi Akhara replied that all the documents are recorded in the Judgment of Allahabad High Court.
