The horrific explosion of several cars in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, killed 20 people. Egypt's Health Ministry said on Monday that a vehicle collided with three other vehicles outside a hospital, after which they exploded.
The ministry said the cars collided outside the National Cancer Institute in central Cairo shortly before midnight on Sunday. 47 other people have also been injured in the accident. "Three-four persons (among the injured) are in critical condition in the intensive care unit," Khalid Megahed, a Health Ministry spokesman, told a press conference on Monday.
He said that the condition of those people is very critical due to burning of most of the body. He said that body parts were also recovered from the spot. The reason for the explosion after the collision is not yet clear. The Health Ministry said that the injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals. The Egyptian general prosecutor has ordered an investigation to find out the cause of the accident.
