TMC claimed that more than 3 lakh people attended the rally. Five thousand policemen were set up to protect the rally. The Martyrs Say rally is held to pay tribute to 13 people killed in police firing in July 21 , 1993.

Let us tell that after assuming office in 2011, BJP has emerged as the biggest competitor of Mamta Banerjee. TSC has started searching for a break from this new challenge since May 2019. In the Lok Sabha elections held in May, BJP got 40.3 percent of the votes, which is only slightly lower than the TMC's 43.2 percent. It is believed that Mamata Banerjee is trying to show her cadre through this rally that she has the strength to deal with the pair of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
