Trinamool Congress chief Mamta Banerjee on Saturday condemned BJP saying that the Uttar Pradesh government did not allow Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to go to Sonbhadra, citing law and order but the Delegation of the BJP from West Bengal's Bhatpara region  was allowed to visit .

This year, 10 people were killed in Sonbhadra on land disputes.

Priyanka Gandhi was detained in Mirzapur Uttar Pradesh on Friday and she was stopped from going to Sonbhadra.  Section 144 of the CrPC was applicable in Sonbhadra district.  "I condemn this incident (detention of Priyanka Gandhi)," Banerjee told reporters here.  Whatever happened is wrong.  There have been incidents of atrocities on Dalits and if someone is raising a voice against them, they should be allowed to do so. "

Banerjee said that the BJP's three-member delegation was allowed to go to Bhatpara despite the imposition of Section 144 of the CrPC.  But the party did not pay any attention to the advice of the administration and violated the law and went there with 50 vehicles."

She further added, "What did Priyanka do that she had taken four people with her and I think three or four people should always be allowed.  We did this in Bhatpara.  We do not stop people, but they (BJP) do so and then spread lies about us. "  Describing Uttar Pradesh's law and order situation as "very bad", Banerjee said, "I have been told that there have been more than 1,100 encounters (in Uttar Pradesh) and there are incidents of petting and killing every day.  These should be noted.  "Banerjee has so far targeted Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to not go near the victims of the Sonbhadra incident.  He said, "I heard that Adityanath Sonbhadra (Sunday) is going.  I think they should have gone soon.  What has happened in Sonbhadra is not correct.
