Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his reinstated of power .
Prime Minister Imran Khan as said over phone had expressed "hope that both the countries will work together for the betterment of the people."
In response to which Prime Minister Modi said , "violence-free and terror-free atmosphere is very important for the peace and prosperity of the region."
Pakistan's foreign ministry spokesman Mohammad Faisal told Sunday that Imran Khan congratulated PM Modi for his victory over the election by talking to him on the phone. Faisal tweeted, "PM (Imran) spoke to PM Modi today and congratulated him on his party victory in the Lok Sabha elections of India. PM expressed his desire to work together for the betterment of the people.
The Prime Ministers of both countries have spoken on the phone for the first time after the Indian Air Force launched surgical strike in Balakot, Pakistan in February.
