All the political parties, including the Congress and the BJP, are pitching in the electoral fray. This time elections for 543 seats are going on in seven phases. Voting will be done on April 11 under the first phase. While the last phase of voting will be held on May 19 and the results will be on May 23.
In the first phase, 91 Lok Sabha seats of 20 states will be cast on April 11. These will be voted on all the 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh. Besides, five of Assam, four in Bihar, one in Chhattisgarh, two in Jammu Kashmir, two in Maharashtra, two in Manipur, two in Meghalaya, one each from Nagaland-Mizoram, 17 of Telangana, eight in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand Polling will take place on two seats in five and West Bengal.
