Pakistan's Information Minister Fawad Choudhury dismissed reports of media heading to take control of the headquarters. Chaudhary said that the matter of taking Jaish headquarters under the control of the government is a spread of the Indian media. He said that where action was taken, it is a madrasa and there is nothing to do with the Pulwama attack.
Pakistan's Home Ministry had made such a announcement on Friday, after which the news got a lot of headlines in the media. The Home Ministry had said that the Government of Punjab province has taken over a mosque and madarsa campus in Bahawalpur area. In the media, this complex was being referred to as JEM headquarters of Masood Azhar. However, now the Minister of Imran has clarified that this is a seminary.
Fawad Chaudhary has informed about the developments by issuing a video message. He said, "The Punjab province government has taken this action during the National Security Council (NSC) meeting and as part of the National Action Plan (NAP). In Bahawalpur, Madarisul Sabir and Jama-e-Masjid Subhanullah have been taken under administrative control." In the video message, Chaudhary said that during the NSC meeting, it was decided that NAP would be fully implemented.
