Dhaka: Before the general elections to be held on Sunday in Bangladesh, a house of the Hindu family was allegedly handed over to the fire. This is the third case related to recent religious minority targeting in the country. Fire brigade official Mofidar Rahman Khan said that fire at Ananda Chandra Burman's house in Jhapartli village of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila at around 10 am in the fire.
Burman told Bdnews24.com, "I saw a fire in my house and the smell of petrol is coming." The whole house was burnt to ashes in five to seven minutes. "He said," To scare our Hindu community and to keep us away from voting in the upcoming elections, someone used petrol to set fire to our house. "
According to the reports, till today, three houses of Hindus have been handed over to the fire before the general elections. Akhnagar Union Council President Nurul Islam has demanded action against the criminals who set fire to the minority community's houses. Meanwhile, the police have said that he has started investigating the matter.
