It is a matter of those days, when the Indian team was continuously losing out to England after making the move in Test cricket in 1932. This episode also includes the tour of 1947–48, when India faced Australia for the first time. At that time, the Indian team, playing a five-Test series, was able to draw only one Test on Australian soil and was defeated in the remaining four matches.

The 1947-48 series may not be remembered due to the failure of the Indian team, but in that tour a small wicket-keeper suddenly shone, who remained India's favorite wicketkeeper for the next five years. Yes! It is being talked about wicketkeeper Prabir Kumar Sen, who became known in the world of cricket by the name of Khokhan Sen. (Khokan- is a common Bengali surname, which is younger in age. Actually, they were called Khokhan instead of Khokan)

The Indian team tried 6 wicketkeepers in their initial 12 Tests. In the 13th Test, there was such a wicketkeeper, who in 14 Tests, stood behind the wicket in his role. In fact, during the 1947–48 tour to Australia, Khokan Sen was taken as the second wicketkeeper during JK Irani. In view of Shadar wicketkeeping in the tour matches, Khokhan was given the chance to make his third Test debut in the middle of the series.
