American singer Rihanna has shut down her fashion and cosmetic companies for three days. Rihanna has backed the blackout campaign in response to ongoing protests demanding justice for the black George Floyd and police brutality.
All of Rihanna's three companies — Fenty, Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty — have transformed their social media homepages into a message of solidarity with the movement. It says that we will not be silent. In addition, Rihanna's post states that we are proud to participate in #BlackoutTuesday by our friends, our families and our colleagues in industry.
Let us know that after the death of black George Floyd in police custody, violent protests are taking place all over America. Meanwhile, protesters are also looting shops. Robbers vandalized and looted thousands of dollars worth of goods at several retail and luxury stores, including the McKees store at Madison and Fifth Avenues, a popular shopping center in Manhattan.
The curfew was imposed in New York City on Tuesday from 11 am to 5 am and authorities have doubled police deployment as looting and violence escalated in the city. The New York City Police Department has deployed nearly 8000 policemen to double the deployment to prevent violence and property damage.
