Veteran boxer Mayweather has offered to pay for the funeral of slain black civilian George Floyd in America. American black citizen Floyd died in police custody, following which protests continue throughout the US.
46-year-old Floyd died during police custody in Minneapolis, US last week. A white police officer named Derek Chowin was sitting on his knees on George's neck and George was repeatedly saying, 'I can't breathe.'
Mayweather's promotion company, Mayweather Promotion, confirmed on Twitter that former World Champion boxer Mayweather has decided to bear the full expenses of Floyd's funeral. As reported by Hollywood Unlock, Mayweather has offered funerals at three locations in Floyd's hometown of Houston, Minnesota and Charlotte. The report says that his family is also looking at the fourth place.
Several celebrities have mourned Floyd's death in police custody, including current Formula One champion Louis Hamilton, NBA legend Michael Jordan and young female tennis player Coco Gough.
