The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has appointed Emmy winner and television producer Krishnendu Mazumdar as its new president.  He has been elected the youngest president in BAFTA's 35-year history.  The decision to appoint Krishnendu Majumdar, who was the deputy chairman for a year, was taken at the BAFTA annual meeting on Monday.  His term will last for the next three years.


 On this occasion, Majumdar said, 'This year has been difficult and turbulent for many people in our industry.  Working with the talented and committed staff and members of Pippa, BAFTA, I want BAFTA to work wholeheartedly to rebuild the industry after Kovid. '

 Krishnendu further said, 'It is important to ensure that we support people of all backgrounds, castes and genders.  Diversity and inclusion are important over the lifetime of BAFTA, and we will continue to be the leader for real change in our industry. '

 Let us know that Krishnendu Mazumdar has been contributing to BAFTA for 14 years and he has been the Chairman of the Learning and New Talent Committee (2006-2010), Television Committee (2015-2019) and a member of the Board of Trusts for nine years.
