Former West Indies World Cup winner Darren Sammy on Tuesday urged the ICC that the cricket world should either raise its voice against racism or be ready to be called part of the problem.
He made this statement after the death of African-American George Floyd in America. Violent protests have continued in the US since a white police officer stabbed his neck with his knee, leading to his death.
Sammy wrote about the problems of blacks in a series of posts on social media. He tweeted, "After watching the latest video, if the cricket world does not stand up against the injustice done to the blacks at the moment, then it will also be considered part of this problem."
Sammy said that racism has to be faced not only in America, but blacks all over the world. He questioned, "What the ICC and all other boards don't see is what happens to people like me." Don't see social injustice happening to people like me. '
