In an interview to Spotboye, Gurmeet told how he got this show. Gurmeet said- After the Ramayana, me and Debina were doing a show, husband and wife. Many people watched the show. That show producer Gul Khan also watched. They invited me to audition for the song. And she wanted me to play Man Singh Khurana.
Further Gurmeet said - you will not believe. I auditioned 10 to 12 times for Mann's role and each time the channel rejected me and started asking for other options. But Gul had made up his mind that I would do the role of Mann and no one else. At one point of time, I also began to think what a joke it was. Did not speak again every two days while calling for audition. Then Gul would call and say give the audition one more time. And it went on again and again.
