The Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) is now preparing to conduct its functioning through an ad-hoc committee due to the absence of the chairman of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) and the secretary being in jail. The BCCI has already stopped the annual grant of DDCA and two days ago during the teleconference between the members of the apex council, the formation of ad-hoc committee was discussed.
A senior BCCI official told PTI on the condition of confidentiality, "As far as DDCA is concerned, there have been countless complaints of corruption at every level. Most of the members of the apex council believed that until an appropriate system is in place, ad hoc committee should be set up to look into the functioning. '
There is no chairman in DDCA after the resignation of senior journalist Rajat Sharma, while General Secretary Vinod Tihar is in Meerut jail due to alleged violation of Customs Act. Most members of the DDCA's apex council have been suspended by the Lokpal of the state body due to alleged involvement in financial irregularities in certain works related to renewal.
