Many films and shows have been made on the Ramayana, but no one has got success like Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana till date. The show created history even 33 years ago and today even after 3 decades its popularity has not diminished.
Even after Ramanand's Ramayana, many Ramayana came on TV. The Sita of Ramayana i.e. Deepika Chikhaliya has surprised us. In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Deepika said - I do not know why people make Ramayan so far. Every year people come with new Ramayana. I think all this should stop now. I wonder why they try such a thing. When you have something, why need to repeat it. Narration, performance and simplicity are all missing in these shows.
On royalty debate, Deepika said- We do not have it. I am talking to people about it that I think they should have given us royalty. Because it is not just about Ramayana. For more than 30 years of our career, we have kept Ramayana alive among the people even today. I think they should have given us royalty. I do not know how it will happen.
