According to the chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Omar Akmal did not show any remorse for failing to disclose the corrupt contacts nor did he apologize for it.
The Disciplinary Committee said this in a detailed decision on the three-year ban imposed on this batsman. Justice (retd) Fazal-e-Miran Chauhan has submitted a detailed decision to the PCB, which was made public on the official website of the board on Friday.
Akmal was found guilty of two charges under the PCB's Anti-Corruption Code, due to which he would not be able to participate in any cricket activities till 19 February 2023.
Justice Chauhan said in his judgment, "It seemed that he (Omar Akmal) was not ready to show remorse or apologize." He admitted that he failed to fulfill his responsibility under the Anti-Corruption Code. '
