Pakistan cricketer Umar Akmal has been banned for three years. Now he will not be able to play in any format of cricket. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) gave this information on its official Twitter handle on Monday. Umar Akmal has been given a three-year ban by Justice (retd) Fazal-e-Miran Chauhan, chairman of the disciplinary panel of PCB.
Omar Akmal was accused of corruption and this action has been taken on him in the same case. Umar Akmal was banned from taking part in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) a day before it started.
The PCB did not disclose the reasons for starting the investigation against Omar Akmal, but he has been charged under two counts in February under Section 2.4.4 of the Board's Anti-Corruption Code.
Umar Akmal was suspended just before the first match of the 2020 season of the Pakistan Super League. He is the younger brother of former Pakistan wicketkeeper batsman Kamran Akmal.
