Basant Kumar Chakraborty, father of Bollywood's famous actor Mithun Chakraborty, has died in Mumbai. He was 95 years old and had been struggling with age related diseases for some time. Mithun is currently stuck in Bangalore due to the lockdown. They arrived in the city in connection with a shoot, but then the central government had announced a lockdown to deal with the corona virus epidemic and Mithun had to stay in Bengaluru.
After 21 days of lockdown, the central government has once again extended the lockdown till 3 May. However, Mithun is trying to reach Mumbai for his father's funeral. Famous Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta has confirmed this on Twitter and in her tweet, she has also prayed to God to give courage to the actor and his family while paying tribute to Mithun's father.
