The effect of COVID-19 has spread not only in India but across the world in such a way that no adult, old and children have survived from its effects. In such a situation, it is natural for pregnant women to worry about their child. Efforts are being made by WHO to eradicate all the fears related to Coronavirus. If you have questions about pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding, then in this post we will try to eradicate some of your similar dilemma.
Are pregnant women at greater risk with covid-19?
Due to limited data, it can not be fully told about it, but research so far has not found any evidence that women are more at risk in pregnancy. However, due to changes in the body and immune system during pregnancy, it is possible that pregnant women are severely affected by respiratory infections. Therefore it is important to take full care to avoid COVID-19.
If I am pregnant, how can I protect myself from COVID-19?
Pregnant women also have to take care of some things like the rest of the people:
- Wash hands with alcohol-based sanitizer or soap and water.
Keep a distance between yourself and others, which we also know as #SocialDistancing. Do not go in crowded area.
- Do not touch your eyes, nose and mouth.
- When coughing or sneaking, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or by turning the elbow.
- If you have fever, cough or difficulty in breathing, seek medical help immediately. Before going to any doctor, call and follow the instructions given by them.
