Australia's two legendary batsmen Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist will captain their respective teams in the Bushfire Cricket Bash charity match to be held at the Melbourne Juvenile Oval ground on Sunday. The match will be played between Ponting XI and Shane Warne XI.
This charity cricket match was to be held on the first Saturday to raise money for the purpose of helping those affected by the terrible fire in the forests of Australia.
According to cricket.com au, but now due to the forecast of rain, this match will now be played in Melbourne on Sunday instead of Sydney. Warne was to captain Warne XI, but he would not be available on that date, so Gilchrist now has to captain Warne XI.
Indian veteran batsman Sachin Tendulkar will be the coach of the Ponting XI team. While Sachin has been selected as the coach of the Ponting XI team, West Indies fast bowler Courtney Walsh has been appointed as the coach of the Warriors XI team.
This charity match will be of 10–10 overs, with five overs of powerplay. There will be no limit for bowlers to over. Money collected from this match will be donated to the Australian Red Cross Disaster and Relief Rescue Fund.
