Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and Army Chief Qamar Javed Bajwa have played a new bet just before the crucial meeting of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) starting today. Pakistan has informed the FATF that the leader of the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed and global terrorist Masood Azhar and his family are 'missing'. Actually, there is a danger of Pakistan being included in the black list in the FATF meeting and to avoid this, the Government of Pakistan has now played this trick.
According to the sources, at the FATF meeting in October last year, Pakistan was asked by the United Nations to act on terrorists declared as global terrorists. Following this FATF directive, Pakistan has now said that 'Masood Azhar and his family are missing'. Till now, Pakistan's diplomatic tactics have been hidden behind the revelation of Masood Azhar and his family, who are leading a luxurious life under the security of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI.
It is being told that at the FATF review meeting in October 2019, giving great relief to Pakistan, it was expressed satisfaction over the efforts made by it to act on terrorist groups. At the same time, it was revealed that Pakistan has reformed but it would have to take 'extra steps' to finance terror and 'complete' elimination of money laundering. After this, Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind of the Mumbai terror attack, was sentenced to 11 years in prison in a Pakistan anti-terrorism court. According to sources, Pakistan is trying to mislead India and the whole world by calling Hafiz Saeed's sentence and Jaish leader Masood Azhar as 'missing'.
This will eliminate the threat of Pakistan being included in the FATF black list and will also come out of the gray list with the help of its 'mentor' China. Explain that the President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the international monitoring agency that monitors the funds provided to terrorism, is from China these days. At present, the case of Pakistan has gone to the FATF for review. In the meeting starting today, it will be seen whether he has taken enough steps to fight terror.
However, Pakistan has not yet told the FATF why it has not taken action against Masood Azhar, the mastermind of 26/11 Mumbai attack Zakir Rahman Lakhvi or the Haqqani network even after being declared a global terrorist. In its defense, Pakistan has claimed that a total of 16 people declared terrorist by the UN were on its land. 7 of them are dead. Of the remaining 9, 7 have requested the UN to remove the financial and traffic restrictions imposed on them. This includes Hafiz Saeed, Haji Muhammad Ashraf, Zafar Iqbal, Hafiz Abdul Salam Bhutvi, Yahya Mohammed Mujahid, Arif Qasmani and Al Qaeda financier Abdul Rahman. At present, the bank accounts of these people are also closed.
