In Punjab, the ruling Congress government on Friday moved a resolution seeking to repeal the amended citizenship law in the assembly. The Assembly has passed this proposal. The Congress has more than the majority in the Punjab Assembly, so the proposal was easily passed. Brahma Mahindra, a cabinet minister in the Captain government, moved a motion against the CAA in the Assembly. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh was asked on Thursday during the two-day assembly session regarding the possibility of bringing a resolution against the revised citizenship law. The Chief Minister did not rule out this possibility.
