In Punjab, the ruling Congress government on Friday moved a resolution seeking to repeal the amended citizenship law in the assembly. The Assembly has passed this proposal. The Congress has more than the majority in the Punjab Assembly, so the proposal was easily passed. Brahma Mahindra, a cabinet minister in the Captain government, moved a motion against the CAA in the Assembly. The state government has also demanded amendment in the National Population Register (NPR). Please tell that before Punjab, the Kerala government has also brought such a proposal.
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh was asked on Thursday during the two-day assembly session regarding the possibility of bringing a resolution against the revised citizenship law. The Chief Minister did not rule out this possibility.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has clarified the decision of the Central Government's CAA and NRC to be unconstitutional and not to implement any situation in the state. Earlier, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had said about the Citizenship Amendment Act that the secularism of India has always been strong. If anyone tries to isolate it, it will be opposed by the people of this country as well as the Congress.
