India's opener Lokesh Rahul has retained the sixth position in the list of batsmen in the ICC T20 International rankings released on Saturday, while captain Virat Kohli has moved up one place to ninth position. The ranking was released after the three-match T20 series between India and Sri Lanka was concluded. India won the series 2–0.
In the rankings, India's top batsman Rahul scored 45 and 54 runs in two innings against Sri Lanka, giving him an advantage of 26 points. He is just six points behind Australia's Glenn Maxwell. Kohli, the top batsman of Test and ODI International cricket, is in ninth place, while left-handed opener Shikhar Dhawan has also moved up one place to 15th position.
Manish Pandey has also moved up four places to 70th position. In the first update of this year in the T20 International rankings, Indian fast bowlers have benefited greatly, which will boost their morale before the men's T20 World Cup to be held in Australia this year.
Navdeep Saini, who was selected as the best player of the series, has jumped 146 places to reach 98th place. Shardul Thakur has re-entered the ranking at 92nd position.
