The Indian selection committee has released Rishabh Pant from the Test squad ahead of the limited-overs series against the West Indies next month, so that he can play in domestic cricket for some time. The first match of the T20 series will be played against the West Indies on 6 December. That is, Rishabh Pant will be available for Delhi in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for the next two Super League matches. Delhi will take on Haryana on 24 November and against Rajasthan on 27 November. After this, if Delhi can go to the semi-finals and the final (December 1), then Pant will also be available for this.

On the other hand, emerging batsman Shubman Gill has also been released from the Test squad. He will play for Punjab in the next two Super League matches against Karnataka (November 24) and Tamil Nadu (November 25) in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Andhra keeper-batsman KS Bharat will join the Indian team as the cover for Wriddhiman Saha for the remaining two days during the second and final Test (Kolkata) against Bangladesh. The BCCI source said, "Rishabh Pant is in Team India squad for all six matches (3 T20 and 3 ODIs) against West Indies. The selectors said that it would be good to play in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Delhi meanwhile.
