A British court on Thursday ordered to keep fugitive diamond trader Nirav Modi in judicial custody till 11 November.

He appeared in court through a video link from a London jail for a regular hearing of custody.  Judge Nina Tempia of the Westminster magistrate court confirmed that the hearing in Modi's extradition case is scheduled to take place between 11 and 15 May next year and will have to appear every 28 days via video link for a "final review hearing" until  the next trial which does not begin until next February.

The hearing is going on in connection with the case of Nirav Modi being extradited to India on charges of fraud and money laundering with Punjab National Bank (PNB) for nearly two billion dollars.  Was arrested and has since been lodged in Wandsworth Prison in south-west London.

His legal team, led by solicitor Anand Dubey and barrister Claire Montgomery, filed four bail petitions since her arrest, which was dismissed each time.  It was argued that Modi could be absconding.
