Dayadra Mandal, Kolkata:
The Committee of Administrators (COA) made it clear that the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) headed by Kapil Dev would choose the next head coach of the Indian cricket team, but the decision was not unanimous but by a two-to-one majority decision. Happened. The COA appointed by the Supreme Court said that there is no conflict of interest in the committee.
COA chief Vinod Rai said after the meeting that the committee has seen the announcements submitted by members Kapil Dev, Anshuman Gaekwad and Shanta Rangaswamy and they have been allowed to choose the coach. But now there are reports that this decision has not been taken on the basis of consensus.
But it is believed that there was no case of conflict of interest against the members, while Diana Edulji wanted Lokpal DK Jain to take a decision in this regard.
Sources said, "Rai and Thoz were unanimous that the announcements given by the three-member committee were very good. But Diana felt that it would be appropriate to take a decision on this by the Lokpal, so that the conflict of interest case is not ignored and no case will come out later.
Rai said, 'We have seen it and it is fine. The candidates will be trimmed for the post of coach in mid-August and then the coach will be selected after that. The decision of the CAC in this matter will be final.
