Moitrish Majumdar, Kolkata:
In the Congress Government of Punjab, Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu is in the headlines once again. This time, he is not in discussions with his statement but rather about a photograph. In fact, Gopal Singh Chawla, General Secretary of Pakistan Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee, shared a picture of Navjot Singh Sidhu on social media. In the photo, Congress leaders are seen with a Pakistani flagged turban. However, after careful scrutiny, it is learned that it is photoshopped photo because people of the Sikh community wear plain turban.
Gopal Singh Chawla, sharing the picture, asked the people to share it. Although why did he do it, it was not clear, but it seems he wants to stay in the news by doing so. Some Sikhs troll Gopal Singh Chawla on social media. A user said this is totally unacceptable.
Sidhu's fate was criticized after embracing Pakistani army chief General Bajwa and photographing with Gopal Singh Chawla during the oath-taking ceremony of Pakistan's PM Imran Khan. When the case of photographing with Gopal Singh Chawla was caught, Sidhu had said that he did not know him and thousands of people in Pakistan had taken his picture.
Navjot Singh Sidhu went to Pakistan when many Indian soldiers were martyred in Pakistan firing on the border. The tension between the two countries was at its peak.
Gopal Singh Chawla is the general secretary of Pakistan Sikh Gurudwara Manager Kameti and is considered close to the mastermind of 26/11 Mumbai mastermind Hafiz Saeed. Gopal Singh Chawla, along with Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI and Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafeez Saeed, plans to spread terror in Punjab. A few months ago, the photograph of Chawla's meeting with Hafiz Saeed in Pakistan was also taken by the investigating agencies.
