Dayadra Mandal,Kolkata;
The result of the Lok Sabha elections has gone more than a month but till now the crisis of the Congress is not ending. Party President Rahul Gandhi is sticking to his resignation and is demanding a new president. On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi said that there should be an election for the post of president in the party as soon as possible, he is no longer on this post. Not only this, Rahul believes that the new president of the party should have been elected one month earlier.
On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi said that he is not in the mood to withdraw his resignation at any cost. He said that there should be elections for this post as soon as possible, I am not in this position. After the election results came on May 23, Rahul Gandhi had offered to resign in the meeting of the Congress Working Committee.
Rahul believes that the party is taking too long to choose a new president. Party should convene a meeting of the Working Committee as soon as possible and decide on this. At the same time, they say that they will not be part of this process. He said that when the meeting of the working committee will be convened, they will also decide the members of the committee. I will not call the meeting.
Significantly, since the moment Rahul Gandhi has said that he should resign as the president of the Congress party, there has been a stir in the party since then. He also expressed displeasure over the fact that no leader has taken responsibility for the defeat and no one has resigned after his offer. After which hundreds of leaders in the party had abandoned their position, although no national level leader was involved.
The supporters are pressuring them to withdraw Rahul Gandhi's resignation. Workers are also protesting, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and senior party leader Ahmed Patel also met the workers sitting on the dharni in Delhi.
The Chief Ministers of the Congress-ruled state also offered to resign with Rahul Gandhi. But Rahul Gandhi is giving only one answer every time that he has resigned as president and now his decision will not change.
