Safety claims have been made on behalf of Indian Railways, but the incidents of theft in the trains are increasingly increasing. According to the figures released by the Ministry of Railways, the Railways have not been able to ensure the safety of the goods of their passengers. It has been reported in the statistics that 1.71 lakh cases of stolen have been registered in the last decade.

Actually, information regarding railway safety was sought for information under Right to Information (RTI) law. The Ministry of Railways said, "On an average, on an average, 2,500 mails, railway trains of express trains, and security of Railway Protection Special Force are operated. In addition, about 2,200 trains are operated in the security of the official railway police staff. ''

According to the information given by the Ministry of Railways, the highest number of 36,584 cases were registered in 2018. In the year 2017, 33,044 cases of theft were registered. In the same way, 22,106 in 2016 and 19,215 cases were registered in 2015. In 2014, 14,301 cases of theft in trains, 12,261 in 2013, 9,292 in 2012, 9,653 in 2011, 7,549 in 2010 and 7,010 cases registered in 2009. During the year 2009 to 2018, there has been a five-fold increase in the number of charas in trains. Overall, between 2009 and 2018, a total of 1,71,015 cases of thefts were registered in trains.

Recently the Ministry of Railways had told that during the last four years, 73,837 Kinnars were arrested in the case of money laundering or snatching of railway passengers. In response to the question asked under the RTI, the Ministry of Railways said that in 2015, total 13,546 were in that year, 19,800 in 2016, 18,526 in 2017 and 20,566 transgenders were arrested in 2018. Ministry said that 1,399 transgenders were arrested in January this year.

Explain that Indian Railways is the second largest rail network in the world. According to the railway, more than 19,000 trains are operated daily. Everyday 13 million people travel in the railways.
