The Election Commission has imposed a 72-hour ban on the campaigning of minister Navjot Singh Sidhu in the Congress leader and the Punjab government. Sidhu will not be able to campaign for the next 72 hours The Election Commission has taken action against Sidhu over the statement given to the public in Katihar, Bihar. BJP had complained against Sidhu in the Election Commission. Election Commission will be stopped from 10 am on Tuesday. Sidhu will not be able to address any rally, nor will he be able to use social media or give interviews to anyone.

While addressing a gathering in Balrampur assembly constituency of Bihar's Katihar parliamentary constituency on April 16, Navjot Singh Sidhu had told Muslim voters that you are a minority even as a minority.
