Moitrish Majumdar, Kolkata:

During this time the employees appealed to the Finance Minister to look for solutions in the matter. Prior to this, the employees of Jet Airways urged President Ramnath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene to pay their salaries and other dues and provide immediate help to the airline. Nearly 23,000 employees, including Jet Airways pilots who are struggling with financial crisis, are facing delays in salary payments.

The airline has temporarily suspended its services due to lack of adequate funds for operations. Between the uncertainties about the future of the airline, two unions of the staff wrote a letter to the President and the Prime Minister. The Society for Welfare of Indian Pilots (SWIP) and the Jet Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Welfare Association (JAMEWA) have written two separate letters asking for help to pay their outstanding salaries. One letter states, "We will discuss this issue with you Urged to give immediate instructions on urgent payment and immediate payment of outstanding salaries of employees affected by Jet Airways management. Es. " The letter states, "In urging you to accelerate the process of providing instant money to the airline, we want to say that every minute and every decision is very important in this challenging time."

After several months of uncertainty, Jet Airways suspended their operations temporarily on April 17. The airline had to take this step due to lack of emergency loan assistance from lenders.
