A defamation case has been filed against Congress President Rahul Gandhi in Barasat Court. The complain was filed by Virendra Kumar Modi, a resident of Lake Town in north Twenty-four Parganas, alleging that the President insulted everyone, having Modi surname. A case has been registered the Barasat court under IPC 500 case (666/2019). His lawyer, Anirban Biswas, said that the next hearing will be on the 20th of May.
The complainant said that Rahul Gandhi on April 13th in Kolar of Mysore, in a public meeting in the city, said that all the thieves named are Modi, Nirav Narendra and Lalit. More Modis will be found if searched. This statement was stated as an insult to the Modi community by Virendra Kumar Modi.
